Rahul Ghosh (b. 1999) is a contemporary artist whose practice observes, investigates and questions the socio-political surroundings as an individual into a collective experience. His practice begins with simple observations about society building up to the subtle tensions and chaos in our everyday encounters. Treating his work as a conversation between the world that he sees and the one that he imagines, he employs quiet humor, satire, commentary and metaphors to reveal experiences, structures and systems as shifting living stories and not static institutions, inviting viewers to reflect on their own place within systems of watching, judging, and being judged. His approach to deploying politics in his work comes from a personal understanding of human connection where he is not seeking an answer rather an inquiry. In his practice, Rahul explores the possibilities of line through characters and space rendering them into emotions, using drawing as an expressive element that purposely resists direct interpretation—narrating memory, observation, and imagination in ways that are at once simple, contradictory, and honest. While also playful and searching, his dynamic style highlights what is beyond the surface employing bold figures and the use of a muted palette.

Rahul holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Art (Printmaking) Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, CG (2022) and a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Art (Printmaking) from Visva-Bharati University, Kala Bhavana, Santiniketan, WB (2025). Ghosh has exhibited in All India Art Exhibition by the Art Society of India, 2020; Ssvad Young Artist Exhibition, Shantiniketan, West Bengal, 2023; Exhibition at Sristi Art Gallery, Emerging Palettes 16, 2026; He has participated in National Student Printmaking Workshop (In memory of Prof. Sanat Kar) Kala Bhavana, Santiniketan, 2025 and Eco-friendly Durga Idol Making Workshop Victoria Memorial, Kolkata, 2022. Ghosh is also the recipient of the LKK Platinum Award, Lalit Kala Kendra, Assam – 2022.
