In Vatsya Padia's paintings, we see a convergence of painting and archival print, memory and observation, and image and illusion, gradually coalescing within a shared visual field. Beginning with photographs drawn from personal encounters and everyday life, she employs archival prints as generative points of departure, extending them through painting, omission, and layered interventions. Padia allows the painted surface and the archival image to remain in continual dialogue, each reshaping the other's presence. Her compositions embrace multiplicity, where meaning emerges through accumulation, as images unfold across overlapping surfaces while remaining deliberately open to interpretation.

Vatsya Padia (b. 1999) is a visual artist from Vadodara, Gujarat, whose practice combines painting and archival print, bringing together photographs from personal experiences and everyday observations. Using archival prints as a starting point, she develops layered works through painting, omission, and painterly illusion, allowing distinct visual identities to coexist and gradually form a shared composition without losing their individual presence.

Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, her works remain open to different interpretations shaped by the viewer's own memory and perception. Beginning with photographs drawn from personal encounters and everyday observations, she uses painting to extend the image rather than complete it, allowing the archival print and painted surface to exist in conversation and shape one another.

Padia completed her Bachelor of Visual Art in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, The M.S. University of Baroda, in 2021. She has taken part in various group shows, including W18 (2018), Aakruti Kala Sansthan, Bhilwara, Rajasthan; Value Beyond 2.0 (2022), Gallery Veda, Chennai; Contemporary Signatures (2022), Monalisa Kalagram, Pune; the 16th edition of The Baroda March (2023), curated by Rukshaan Krishna at The Stainless Steel, Delhi; Kodachrome Memories (2024) by MAG Contemporary, Delhi; Architecture As Muse (2025) by Sameksha Art Gallery, Delhi; and Momentum (2026) by Interspace and 079 Stories, Ahmedabad, among others. She presented her solo show, "My Dream, My City" (2022), with Limited Edition Gallery on The Art Platform India (online), and undertook the Winter Residency '23 (2022) at Space Studio Baroda, Vadodara. Padia has won the Best Women Artist Award for W18 (2018) by Aakruti Kala Sansthan, Bhilwara, Rajasthan.

We offer bespoke framing services tailored to the specific requirements of each artwork. Framing is not merely a protective measure, but an integral extension of the work itself—one that enhances its presence, refines its context, and brings it into its fullest form. To explore framing options and charges and learn more about our approach, please visit our support page or get in touch with us on Whatsapp.

To ensure the longevity of your artwork, it is recommended that it be kept away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity, and extreme temperature fluctuations, and handled with care in a clean, dry environment. Proper placement and storage play a key role in preserving its condition over time. For detailed guidance on product care, please refer to our support page.

"I leave space for the work to remain open. Rather than arriving at a fixed meaning, each piece invites different ways of seeing, shaped by the viewer’s own memory, perception and experience."
